Comedy Central Drops Big Announcements for The President Show, Jim Jefferies Show, The Daily Show, and More

The folks at Comedy Central have been busy, as the network made a series of exciting announcements today regarding some of their biggest shows. From The Daily Show with Trevor Noah to Broad City, there’s a little something for everyone in this news blast, so check out all of the juicy information below!

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah: Coming off of the show’s most-watched month (June) and quarter since Noah took over, Noah and crew will be heading to Chicago to tape a special series of episodes. From Monday, October 16th to Thursday, October 19th, The Daily Show will telecast from Chicago’s Athenaeum Theatre in what’s been dubbed “The Daily Show Undesked Chicago 2017: Let’s Do This Before It Gets Too Damn Cold.” Tickets to the tapings are free and can be requested by following this link.

The Opposition with Jordan Klepper: The long-teased new late-night talk show hosted by The Daily Show alum Jordan Klepper now has a name and a premiere date: Monday, September 25th at 11:30 p.m. The show’s aim is to satirize the “alternative-media” and the various conspiracies and fear-mongering tactics that they thrive upon. The show’s tagline: “Not Mainstream. Not Establishment. Not Helping.”

The Jim Jefferies Show: Everyone’s favorite snarky Aussie is going to be sticking around Comedy Central, at least for a little longer, as it was announced today that the show has been given a ten-episode extension. The late-night series, which was initially planned to run through August 15th, will take a short hiatus before picking back up on Tuesday, September 19th at 10:30 p.m. “I’m very grateful to Comedy Central for making our relationship more official,” said Jefferies of the news. “Like all my relationships, I look forward to a few more months with Comedy Central before it starts crying outside of a bar at 2 a.m. Or spray paints ‘liar’ on the side of my car.”

The President Show: Fans and the folks at Comedy Central love Anthony Atamanuik’s Donald Trump, so much so that the network has decided to extend the show’s initial run for an additional seven episodes. Currently airing on Thursdays at 11:30 p.m., the show will move to the midnight time slot starting on Thursday, September 28th, immediately following Jordan Klepper’s new show, The Opposition with Jordan Klepper. “I’m very excited to continue to chronicle the rapid decline of Western Civilization,” joked Atamanuik.

Broad City: The upcoming fourth season of Broad City will premiere on Wednesday, September 13th at 10:30 p.m. In this season, we’ll see Abbi and Ilana braving the brutal winter of New York City, getting new jobs, tripping on mushrooms, vacationing in Florida and celebrating the anniversary of their epic friendship. Some of the new season’s guest stars include RuPaul, Shania Twain, Steve Buscemi, Sandra Bernhard and more. In addition, Comedy Central announced that starting on September 7th, all three previous seasons of the show will be made available on the Comedy Central app and at cc.com. Goatface: The sketch comedy quartet Goatface, which consists of Hasan Minhaj (The Daily Show with Trevor Noah), Asif Ali (New Girl, Wrecked), Fahim Anwar (Fahim Anwar: There’s No Business Like Show Business), and Aristotle Athiras (Director of Fahim Anwar: There’s No Business Like Show Business), will be shooting a one-hour special for the network. The group uses their biting wit and playful sketches to satirize everything from sports and music to politics and social issues. No air date has been announced. “We’re excited to work with Comedy Central and have cancelled all international flights to ensure our ability to stay in America and finish this project,” said the group collectively.
