China Will Brighten Their Skies with an Artifical Moon

Chinese scientists are planning to launch an artificial moon into orbit by 2020 to illuminate city streets after dark and save on energy from using street lamps. The idea is to launch an illuminative satellite that will bear a reflective coating to cast sunlight back to Earth, where it will supplement streetlights at night. The “moon” could save the city $173 million annually on electric costs and could help first responders during blackouts. If this one is successful, three more moons can be added in 2022. So, China gets their ideas for supervillains now.
