“Carol Burnett & Friends” To Air On MeTV Starting January 1st

As previously announced, MeTV, the over-the-air classic television network will begin airing Carol Burnett’s legendary show on New Year’s Day. “Carol Burnett & Friends,” the syndication name for “The Carol Burnett Show,” is scheduled for weeknights at 11 pm et. The original award-winning variety show aired for eleven seasons on CBS, and throughout the 70’s became a comedic force, with skits from the program becoming the stuff of comedy legend. Besides showcasing the comedic talents of Burnett, Vicki Lawrence, Harvey Korman, and Tim Conway, the show was groundbreaking thanks in part to its female lead.
Among the other shows being added to MeTV’s lineup is “Abbot & Costello” and medical drama “Quincy M.E.” The Chicago-based network is almost exclusively made up of classic television, airing shows like “The Andy Griffith Show,” Columbo,” and “Gunsmoke.” Its only first-run program is “Svengoolie,” a national version of Chicago’s 40-year-old horror film show.
