Bobcat Goldthwait who appeared in three of the seven films in the “Police Academy” franchise was asked about a possible reboot. The now director / comedian was approached by TMZ for an answer. Bobcat gave both a pro and con response. In Bobcat style, he first said he didn’t think that bringing back the movies about highly under-qualified cadets joining the police force would be possible. He said, “Well, the problem is most of the cast are dead”.

The answer delighted the TMZ pitch room, but not as much as Bobcat’s next answer. He told the gossip site’s reporter that he did have an idea for rebooting 1984’s “Police Academy” that the staff enjoyed.

Bobcat Goldthwait’s latest project is his documentary “Call Me Lucky” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival to great reviews. The doc is a look at the career and turbulent life of Boston comedy legend Barry Crimmins. A theatrical release for “Call Me Lucky” hasn’t been announced yet.
