Blockbuster Stores Still Thriving In Alaska

Like an endangered species, there’s only about 10 Blockbuster video stores still open in the country and 7 of them are in Alaska where they’re still doing a booming business. The franchise owner attributes the success to long winters and really pricey internet access in the 49th state. The Alaska Blockbusters are doing great, but on the negative side, the only movies they carry are Grizzly Man, Insomnia and Cuba Gooding Jr.’s Snow Dogs.
