Black Women’s Book Club Refuses Wine Train’s Apology For Kicking Them Off Ride
A black women’s book club is refusing an apology that just came in from the Napa Valley Wine Train. The Wine Train kicked the women, including an 83-year-old, off the train, claiming that they verbally and physically assaulted train staff. The book club said that no assault occurred, which the CEO admitted in his apology. A petition supporting the women garnered nearly 15,000 signatures and the hashtag #laughingwhileblack started trending. The Napa Valley Wine Train is usually a bastion of diversity, from elderly white men to elderly white women.
