Ben Schwartz Has The Best Simpsons Answering Machine Message

Ben Schwartz became a teensy part in the fabric of history when he voiced a clerk for a season 27 episode of “The Simpsons”. The episode, “Cue Detective” aired last fall and also starred the voices of genuinely lovable chef Alton Brown and SNL regular Bobby Moynihan. Almost a year later, while on “The Late Late Show” beside guest Jessica Alba, Schwartz shares a behind the scenes memento he obtained during the experience.
While one childhood dream was coming true, another manifested as Schwartz was encouraged just before recording some of his dialogue by Pamela Hayden, the woman who voices Milhouse Van Houten, as well as Rod Flanders, Todd Flanders and Sarah Wiggum. Schwartz capitalized on his fanboy freak out during the encounter and requested Hayden record a new outgoing voicemail for him as her character. This all led to the Big Kahuna of personalized Simpsons rewards, a prize fit for a last dying wish. That every time you don’t pick up the phone, your friends listen to Milhouse screech out, “Everything’s coming up Milhouse!” is the reason Make-a-Wish was founded in the first place.
