Ashton Kutcher Comedy ‘The Ranch’ Renewed for Second Season

Deadline is reporting that The Ranch, Netflix’s multi-camera sitcom starring Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson, Sam Elliott and Debra Winger, has been renewed for a second season. The show follows Colt and Jameson Bennet, played by Kutcher and Masterson, respectively, two brothers who struggle to deal with their strained family relationships while working on their father’s ranch. Elliott plays the patriarch, Beau Bennet, and Winger plays his estranged wife, Maggie Bennett.
The show received its renewal very quickly; even before the full first season has been released. The show runners are releasing the season in two batches of ten episodes each, with the first half having come out on April 1st. The second half of season one will be released this fall, and season two is set to be released sometime next year. Netflix has an impressive track record with their original series thus far, as virtually every show they’ve aired has been renewed for additional seasons.
The series has a broad network sitcom feel with a laugh track, and metered joke timing, but parts from its network feel with adult language and nudity.
Kutcher, Masterson and Elliott made the announcement official when they posted a video, taken on the set of the show, to Twitter over the weekend.
