Ann Coulter Bailed on Chelsea, So Here’s What Chelsea Did

To her credit, Chelsea Handler will sit down and hear out any argument, no matter how unfounded, counter-intuitive or offensive. This was the case in the most illuminating segment of her summer web series Chelsea Does when she sat down with a white supremacist to discuss his intentions (in the episode “Chelsea Does Racism”). So despite the comedian being a vocal Clinton supporter, Handler’s team made the arrangements for Ann Coulter to promote her book In Trump We Trust on Chelsea. It’s purely speculative, but I think Chelsea genuinely intended to hear Coulter out (she definitely read her book, a “piece of shit” as she called it) before tearing her to shreds.
Coulter, on the other hand, emailed in sick the morning of the show. Handler expressed her ire over Twitter and Instagram in a video of herself lighting In Trump We Trust on fire while explaining she had been up until 5 AM reading it.

The show had to go on, so naturally the crew found Ann Coulter’s “body double”- LGBTQ comedian and past “Chelsea Lately” writer Fortune Feimster. Feimster, wearing a long blonde wig, read Sticky Note-flag excerpts from “her” book when asked for her views on political hot button issues, namely immigration (really only regarding Muslims and Mexicans) and whether or not women should vote (they shouldn’t). Now that she’s vicariously said her piece, Coulter most likely will never be asked back. The episode in question streams on Netflix Friday, September 30th.
