Ancient Tomb Destroyed, Replaced With Picnic Table Because Mayor Didn’t Know
A Spanish Mayor instructed workers to destroy a 6,000-year-old Neolithic tomb and replace it with a brand-new picnic table. The Mayor didn’t realize the tomb was a landmark and thought it was just a broken stone table. Archaeologists are calling it a “monumental error,” while the Mayor apologized and said he’ll make up for it with his new plan for turning the Museo del Prado into a nice pile of wood.
