13 Year Old Gets Standing Ovation For Her Stand Up On AGT

Lori Mae Hernandez

Television talent shows thrive off precocious children and there are few talents more strangely grown-up for a kid to show off than stand up comedy. California native and newly minted teenager this week, Lori Mae Hernandez won over the America’s Got Talent judges and audience with her brief act.

The thirteen year old was prompted into sharing the sad story of her father’s disease pushing her into comedy before she launched into a bit about babysitting. AGT loves a good backstory and Hernandez’s is that she started performing comedy to make her dad laugh after he contracted Bell’s Palsy- a condition which among other things makes it difficult to smile.

As for her comedy, Hernandez reveled in the bizarreness of leaving an ex-baby (her) in charge of your precious children and compared the job to asking a sick person to be your doctor or a former reality show host to run for president. Hernandez received a standing ovation from many of the judges and most of the audience for her clean roast of Trump. All four judges voted for Hernandez to proceed to the Judge Cuts section of the show, if that term means anything to you.
