Actress Says Geoffrey Rush Was a Menace on Set

Actress Eryn Jean Norvill said she also felt “belittled, embarrassed” and “shamed” after Mr Rush gestured groping her breasts while bulging his eyes and licking his lips during rehearsals for King Lear. The 34-year-old said she received no support from director Neil Armfield or her fellow actors as the sexual gestures became a regular occurrence. She told the NSW Federal Court she ‘probably panicked’ when she received a text message which included a tongue emoji ‘because I believed Geoffrey to be unsafe’. The reason they’re in court is that Rush is suing The Daily Telegraph for printing an article with these claims in 2017. It’s really a shame when someone misuses something as innocent and pure as an emoji.
