Who is On Late Night Tonight in Comedy: Week of December 7, 2020

Who’s on Late Night Tonight in Comedy?

This week, hosts take turns being guests, Natalie Palamides talks about her one man (?) show, and Timothée Chalamet wants to be called by his own name on Saturday.

If you’re staying up late this week online holiday shopping, wrapping gifts or baking cookies, there’s plenty of comedy in late night to keep you company. Starting on Monday, Nick Kroll will be virtually visiting Late Night with Seth Meyers. Kroll is promoting the fourth and newest season of his animated series “Big Mouth” on Netflix.

Big Mouth – Season 4” was just released this past week on Netflix. There’s 10 new episodes of “Big Mouth” to enjoy. Besides star and creator Nick Kroll, the new season features the voice talents of John Mulaney, Jenny Slate, Fred Armisen, Maya Rudolph and Jason Mantzoukas, among many, many others all starring as the voices of your favorite pubescent middle-schoolers. You can binge the newest season of “Big Mouth” immediately on Netflix.

Tuesday night has some of the funniest people around in late night. The fabulously loud and funny Billy Eichner will be on the Late Late Show with James Corden. Also on Tuesday, Chloe Fineman who has taken Saturday Night Live by storm with her incredible impressions, will be a guest on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday.

Speaking of Mr. Jimmy Fallon, he will be part of a host exchange program in late night this week. On Tuesday, Jimmy Fallon will be a guest on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Not to be outdone, CBS will be getting in on that gimmick. On Thursday night, James Corden will be a guest on his lead-in, the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. It’s like late night television’s version of having a company office party during the holiday season.

Wednesday night in late night, we highly recommend watching Natalie Palamides on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Natalie is a product of the Los Angeles alt-comedy scene. She was an intern on the Conan show and from there she worked at UCB – LA and with her own comedy troupe, Wet the Hippo. She developed her own comedy characters and put together a show that got her a spot on the New Faces Showcase at the 2016 Just for Laughs Festival. From there, Natalie won the 2017 Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer.

Now, this former Conan intern has her own comedy special available on Netflix. “Natalie Palamides: Nate – A One Man Show” debuted this past week on the streaming service. Natalie does the entire special as one of her alter-egos, Nate Palomino. With echoes of Lily Tomlin’s drag-king character Tommy Velour, “Nate” is like a distant country cousin.

In “Nate – A One Man Show“, Natalie Palamides takes the audience on a ride through toxic masculinity that turns a near #MeToo incident into a comedy special. “Natalie Palamides: Nate – A One Man Show” is available now on Netflix and we believe that it will be Natalie on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday, but with her, you never know who might show up. If you still have questions about “Nate”, you can find the answers to those questions here as the Interrobang asks, “Who is Nate!?”.

Thursday, one of Seth Meyers’ favorites, Jenny Slate, will be a guest on Late Night on NBC. Jenny is promoting her new movie, “On the Rocks” directed by Sofia Coppola. One of the first major projects for the new Apple TV+ platform, “On the Rocks” stars Rashida Jones and Bill Murray at his charming cad best. Jenny Slate co-stars in “On the Rocks” which is available now on Apple TV+.

Finally this week, we’ve got a newbie hosting Saturday Night Live. Timothée Chalamet is hosting SNL for the first time this weekend. Maybe we’ll see SNL featured player Chloe Fineman doing her Timothée Chalamet impression for the host himself. The musical guest this Saturday on SNL is Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. So, if this weekend’s SNL brings in monster ratings, it may not be because of the host this time.

Enjoy your week. And remember, if you’re going to let your kid sit on Santa’s lap this year, make sure you wipe it down first.
