Vir Das: Exclusive Trailer Premiere for His New Comedy Special, Inside Out

Bollywood superstar & comedian Vir Das is releasing a brand new hour special, Inside Out? on August 21st and you can see the world premiere of his trailer right here on The Interrobang.com.

Inside Out is not your typical stand-up special. It wasn’t filmed in a theater. Das recorded the hour in his house connecting to fans from all over the world via zoom. And the crux of the hour is the question posted to his fans, “What is the first thing you’re going to do after lockdown ends?” Its remarkable watching the comedian connect with fans from Madrid, Ireland, London, Chicago, Houston, and yes even Wuhan China.  It’s a lock-down crowd work show and its full of great vibes and laughs.

At the beginning of this year, pre-coronavirus, Vir was touring around the world and had just released his 3rd Netflix stand-up special, Vir Das: For India to raved reviews. After COVID-19 hit and the comedy world shut down, Vir started to raise money for charity by doing 30 virtual comedy shows during lockdown. He decided to document and film these shows as a moment in time where comedy is connecting us all no matter the geographical distance as fans logged in from all over the world to laugh at what has become the “new normal”.

The result is Inside Out and if you can judge based on the trailer, its funny, heartwarming, and something we can all learn from.  Its also a way to connect with the world from your own home, through Das.

Inside Out will be available exclusively on his website, and you can watch with a minimum of a $1 donation. All proceeds will go to a couple hand selected nonprofit organizations. Viewers will have the opportunity to choose from four charities- one for children, one for dogs, one for doctors and one for elder people. All four charities provide Covid-19 relief.

Vir Das has cemented himself as one of the biggest Bollywood stars in India, and now is fast rising in the American comedy market. He is the first Indian comedian to have a stand-up special on Netflix, which resulted in a multi-special deal with the platform. Abroad Understanding was released in 2017 to raves reviews. Losing It premiered in December 2018, again, getting tremendous response worldwide. His third special, FOR INDIA just released in January 2020, and has also been critically well-received. He’s been a regular guest on Conan, has been featured at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Montreal’s Just For Laughs comedy festival and was named as one of Variety’s “Top 10 Comics to Watch.”
