Comedy Central Extends First Season of ‘The President Show’

Saturday Night Live bid farewell (at least temporarily) to Donald Trump during their recent season finale, but Comedy Central has stepped in to fill that orange residue-stained hole. The network announced today that they have ordered seven additional episodes of their new popular late night talk show, The President Show. The show stars Donald Trump (Anthony Atamanuik) and Mike Pence (Peter Grosz), with Trump addressing the American people straight from the Oval Office, bypassing the “fake news” outlets and getting the truth out via his own take on late night desk segments like “Nice! Not Nice!” and interviews with the likes of Bernie Sanders (James Adomian) and a painting of Andrew Jackson (Neil Casey).
“I’m so grateful that Comedy Central has decided to end its tenure as a cable network by renewing The President Show,” said Atamanuik.
Coming as no surprise to the ever-so-humble Trump, The President Show has been pulling in killer numbers for Comedy Central in the 18-49 age bracket, filling the time slot formerly held by The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore. The show had the biggest audience for a series premiere on the network since Broad City in 2014. Now, will President Trump be lucky enough to have a second term season? Only time will tell.
