Hugh Laurie Reveals America’s Real Enemy on the Late Show (Hint: It’s Not Isis, Fatty)

Hugh “House” Laurie was a guest on Stephen Colbert’s live post-debate edition of the Late Show on Wednesday night. During his interview segment, Hugh was able to give a Brit’s perspective on the debate and the American Presidential election.
Besides having some fashion advice for Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, he was puzzled by the people in the U.S. who really hate her. Hugh feels like somehow he’s missed something about her that warrants the legions of haters that despise her with such enthusiasm and wondered if she might have “burned down an orphanage” at some point. Hugh Laurie also feels that the world is not as grim as the Presidential election has painted it. In fact, he made a promise that “the American voter is not going to be killed by Isis”. The bad news is that “the American voter is going to be killed by diabetes” instead. Ouch. That hit us right in our collective fat gut. He also believes that Isis is missing a real opportunity to wipe out our country. You can watch the clip below to see how Hugh feels the terrorist group should be targeting the American sweet tooth.
Also included here is a sketch from last night’s Late Show where Hugh Laurie plays dead voter Horace McNulty. The sketch is based on Donald Trump’s recent conspiracy theory that the election is rigged and it will be won for Hillary Clinton by using 1.8 million dead people whose names are still on the voters rolls. And with all the dead people voting for Clinton, the election will be stolen. The sketch, which putting it kindly, stunk like a dead voter’s corpse, featured Hugh Laurie as a 19th century victim of a wheat thresher murder. Laurie powered through the sketch that had jokes like “Dead via satellite” and one about women dying in childbirth. If the Late Show wasn’t live, this sketch may have been edited out before broadcast.
Hugh Laurie stars as neuropsychiatrist Eldon Chance in the new series “Chance”. The first two episodes are available now on Hulu, with new episodes premiering each Wednesday.
