M. Night Shymalan is Working on an Animated Comedy For Fox?

m-night

M. Night Shyamalan’s new venture into comedy adds a twist to his horror-heavy credentials. Shyamalan and “Family Guy” writer/producer Alex Carter sold an animated comedy to Fox, a script called “Eleven Little Indians” that focuses on an extended Indian family in America. Carter and Shyamalan will serve as executive producers alongside Blinding Edge Pictures’ Ashwin Rajan with 20th Century Fox Television serving as the studio. Each of the three families in “Eleven Little Indians” are at different levels of “making it” in America, from success to newly arriving to completely falling apart.

Despite Shyamalan’s acclaim as a director of consistently successful supernatural thrillers, one of the multihyphenate’s first screenplays was the family-friendly adaptation of “Stuart Little”. While Shyamalan made a move to television earlier this year as an executive producer on “Wayward Pines”, he hasn’t touched comedy since the tale of a daring mouse.

In addition to the Fox project, both Carter and Shyamalan’s hands will be busy. The former as writer for Fox and John Krasinski’s live-action family comedy “My Bad Parent” and the latter producing TNT’s upcoming 2017 horror programming block.
