Cassette Tapes Are Making A Comeback In A Huge Way

maxellThe cassette tape was replaced by the CD over 20 years ago, but are they’re beginning to make a rise in sales that’s so dramatic, record companies are starting to investigate ways to start tracking their numbers for the first times since the early 90s. Just like the reemergence of the vinyl record over the last decade, cassette tapes are also starting to make a comeback except for there’s no claim of better sound quality here. Starting with underground artists who would release their records on cassettes, mainstream artists are starting to follow suit and now tapes are being sold at retail stores like Urban Outfitters. So get ready, because in only 5 years HBO will make a disappointing 1980s Rock N’ Roll show called “Cassette”.
