Tracy Morgan, Sarah Silverman to Headline Onion AV Club Comedy Festival
The Onion and pop culture sister-site, The A.V. Club, recently announced the highly anticipated Third Annual 26th Annual Comedy Festival will take place on June 1-5, 2016. Even if you didn’t know anything else about the festival you can pretty accurately surmise that if it’s hosted by The Onion and The A.V. Club, it’s going to be the one of the better comedy events of the summer. Folks who have been to the festival in previous years can confirm as much.
This year the festival is sponsored by truTV, and will once again invade venues all over Chicago, with headline performances bookending the festival with shows at the beautiful Civic Opera House.
There’s all-star lineup of comedic heavyweights on the schedule, including Tracy Morgan to kick off the event, and a grand finale of Sarah Silverman & Friends. Following last year’s success, the festival will also feature free, star-packed Bell Hop aftershows at Virgin Hotels Chicago, hosted by Ian Abramson. Other highlights include performances by Michael Che, Chris Gethard, Reggie Watts, and one of this year’s ‘it’ girls, Jo Firestone.
