The upcoming comedy, “Rock that Body” starring an ensemble of female comedians and film stars which is being billed as “raunchy” set a date with audiences for Summer 2017.

In the words of little known comic Amy Schumer, “I’m labeled a sex comic. I think it’s just because I’m a girl. I feel like a guy could get up here and literally pull his dick out and everyone would be like, “He’s a thinker.” In other words, what’s seen as inappropriate material for women, and this movie specifically, is usually par for the course in other, male dominated, comedy.

Taking that descriptor of “raunchy” with some skepticism, “Rock That Body” does read like a feral love child of “Bridesmaids” and “The Hangover” franchise. The movie follows “a group of friends whose wild bachelorette party goes so far off the rails that a male stripper turns up dead.”

“Rock That Body” will star “Broad City’s” Ilana Glazer, Scarlett Johansson of “Her”, “SNL’s” Kate McKinnon and Jillian Bell of “Workaholics”. Lucia Aniello will direct the film. The accomplished television and film director has also helmed “Time Traveling Bong” and several episodes of “Broad City”. She wrote the upcoming feature with her boyfriend, Paul W. Downs, aka Trey from “Broad City”.

The film hits theaters June 23, 2017.
