An adult-comedy animated series starring Zac Efron and Anna Kendrick called “Human Discoveries” is coming to Facebook Watch, a video-on-demand service operated by Facebook.
The cast also includes Jillian Bell, and Paul Scheer plays a dude named Ugg. The central characters are living at the dawn of human civilization and slowly discover those pesky little necessities, like fire and the wheel, as well as art, alcohol, fashion, racism, small talk and monogamy making the series sound like Land of the Lost meets the Invention of Lying.
Created by longtime childhood friends, Chris Bruno and David Howard Lee, the idea for the animated series was born over a shared bag of popcorn that led them to wonder about the first person to pop a corn kernel over a fire. The series evolved into a social commentary on 2019 through the lens of prehistoric times.
Human Discoveries is produced by ShadowMachine, the team behind the hit series “Bojack Horseman,” and Zac Efron’s production company Ninja’s Runnin’ Wild.
The series will premiere with the first three episodes on Facebook Watch on July 16 at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET.
Watch the trailer now and then tune in on June 16.
