Would You Save a Dog that Mauled a 4 Year Old!?

The people of Phoenix, Arizona have created a Facebook page to save a dog from being put down. Sounds sweet except that this particular dog mauled a 4 year old. The pages has gotten more than 40,000 likes. The child was attacked after picking up a bone near the pit bull. If the dog started an Instagram account and got a bunch of followers, would that help its case?
