And the last time Dr. Dre rapped, Jay Z wrote most of his lyrics, which was the 1999 album, 2001. Who knew that putting shitty sounding earphones into brightly colored plastic could make you a $100 million dollars? Behind Dre is Puff Daddy, who’s worth $45 million, mostly due to his vodka brand. Jay Z’s next at $38 million, half of which comes from the Brooklyn Nets and his other business ventures. There is no money in making music.
