Why Are We Creating Super-Soldier-Ants!?

Scientists at McGill University have been creating and studying supersoldier ants in their labs. These are ants that have a specific hormone applied to them which makes their heads and mandibles enormous.
I mean look at these things!?!?! Aren’t there enough monsters already existing in nature? Do we need to create more? And who is going to be the first ones to start crying when things go horribly wrong? It’s always the super-rich guy at the In-Gen Tech Labs or the Con-Gen Science Research Company who gets killed first, and in that last moment realizes it was all his fault. We may never learn.
