Who’s Hosting Saturday Night Live Tonight: July 16, 2016
It’s Summer and Saturday Night Live is on its long summer break. They’ll be back in the fall with all new episodes and a brand new 42nd Season, but tonight NBC is airing a repeat episode from its 41st Season starring Drake. The pop superstar pulled double duty hosting and acting as musical guest on an episode that initially aired on May 14, 2016. It was Drake’s second time helming the show as both host and musical guest.
Drake shaved his beard for the occasion (and Twitter went mad with excitement). The Drake episode was not one of the better episodes of the season despite the high anticipation. You can expect plenty of Drake self-deprecating material including a self deprecating monologue and a digital short about Drake wondering why the cast doesn’t respect him. Black Jeopardy, American Ninja Warrior, and a Parody of a PBS Special about a 70’s R&B singer were the better sketches of the night, but if you like to cringe, stick around for the 12:55 sketch casting Drake as a high school dance chaperone who looks like a Hulk Hogan wannabe.
Saturday Night Live starring Drake airs on NBC at 11:35pm.
