Who is Hosting Saturday Night Live Tonight: December 4, 2021

Dedicated to the brilliant and beautiful Ernie Tripper

Saturday Night Live is still on hiatus this week, and will air a repeat episode from earlier this season.  Tonight’s repeat episode is from this season’s third episode, and hosted by first timer Rami Malek.

Rami Malek hosted SNL while promoting his co-starring role in the new Bond Movie, No Time to Die. He plays Bond villain Lyutsifer Safin. Prior to taking on his Bond role Malek was best known for playing Freddie Mercury in the award winning biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, and before that his breakout role as computer hacker Elliot Alderson in the USA Network television series Mr. Robot. Time magazine named Malek one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2019.

Rami Malek is joined by musical guest Yung Thug.

The episode wasn’t particularly strong, if you need to take a week off, this is a good one to sit out.   But there were some moments worth another watch.  Malek’s co-star, Daniel Craig who plays James Bond appears in the episode in two sketches, although neither were memorable.  The best sketch of the night involves Malek, Aidy Bryant and a Mattress Store and as often is the case, Weekend Update proves to be a high point for the evening.

Saturday Night Live will return live next week with Billie Eilish serving double duty as both host and musical guest.
