Were Laptops Confiscated from the Zuccotti Park Raid Purposefully Smashed!?
In the early hours of November 15, 2011 Mayor Bloomberg ordered a police raid on Zuccotti Park, clearing the park of all inhabitants and confiscating tents, electronics and other belongings. The Department of Sanitation issued a press release for anyone wanting to claim personal property that was removed from Zuccotti Park on Tuesday, November 15, 2011:
Beginning Wednesday, November 16th and through Friday November 18th, anyone wishing to claim property should go to the Department of Sanitation’s Manhattan District 7 Garage located on West 56th Street between 11th and 12th Avenues between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

He lost those items when he was arrested early Tuesday morning. What he found when he arrived at the designated address was a dark unmarked building with no signage or information to direct claimants. Press is not being given access to the facility. Wilder went in to search for his things, and came up empty handed– no sign of his tower, his backpack or his cash. But what he did find was a row of laptops that looked as if they had all been purposefully smashed with bats, possibly to destroy the data they had been capturing. He borrowed a cell phone and went back in take pictures and here is what he came up with.
