Watch the Trailer for Woody Allen’s New Coney Island Tale
Wednesday, Amazon Studios released a trailer for Woody Allen’s newest film, Wonder Wheel. Jim Belushi, Juno Temple, Justin Timberlake and Kate Winslet star in the new film as four characters whose separate lives intertwine against the background of the Coney Island amusement park in the 1950’s. Winslet’s character Ginny is a former actress now working as a waitress in a clam house. Belushi plays her husband, Humpty, who operates the Coney Island carousel, and his long estranged daughter (Temple) is hiding from gangsters at her father’s apartment because she knows where the bodies are buried. “I’m marked.”, she tells Ginny, sobbing, “they’re gonna kill me.”, when she shows up unexpectedly. Mickey, played by Timberlake is a handsome young lifeguard who dreams of becoming a playwright.
Cinematographer Vittorio Storaro captures a tale of passion, violence, and betrayal that plays out against the picturesque background of 1950s’ Coney Island.
Wonder Wheel hits theaters on December 1, 2017.
