Two New Comedies, Ballers and The Brink Start on HBO June 21
Jack Black, Tim Robbins, Pablo Schreiber, Aasif Mandvi, Dwayne Johnson, Rob Corddry,Jerry Weintraub, Steve Levinson, and Mark Wahlberg want to take over your Sunday nights this summer starting June 21 with two brand new comedy series for HBO.
A geopolitical crisis sets the stage for The Brink when a rogue general seizes control of Pakistan and its nukes. Jack Black, Tim Robbins and Pablo Schreiber play three Americans government officials who are going to figure out how to save the planet from a third World War. Esai Morales is the latest to play an American President who makes all the wrong moves leaving the future of the world in the hands of these three unlikely heros: Jack Black as pot smoking low level state department bureaucrat Alex Talbot who gets caught up in the center of Pakistani unrest, Tim Robbins as Secretary of State Walter Larson who is in the center of the American political response, and Navy fighter pilot Z-Pak Tilson played by Pablo Schreiber who has a secret side business going on. The lead in for The Brink is the new Dwayne Johnson led series Ballers,about the lives of football players caught up in the football-verse. Johnson plays aging former superstar dealing with retirement while mentoring the younger guys and dealing with the “business” of the game.
