The new host of the Daily Show has some new New York City Friends. Trevor Noah spent Monday hanging with Jerry Seinfeld, Larry David and Matthew Broderick. The get-together could be as simple as just taking in a ballgame or as elaborate as a plan to do some damage control according to the Daily Mail.

The foursome were at Citi Field in Queens for the Mets’ opening day against the Phillies. The photo op works in several different ways for Trevor Noah. As he now makes New York his home to take over for Jon Stewart on Comedy Central, he’s seen with 3 of city’s favorite sons. It also shows that some of the biggest names in comedy are giving him a thumbs up considering that he was thought of as a unexpected and almost unknown choice to take over the Daily Show.

Another plus from Trevor Noah’s day at the ballpark according to the Daily Mail is that Jerry Seinfeld, Larry David and Matthew Broderick are all Jewish. This combats the idea that Trevor Noah is anti-Semitic which started running wild on Twitter the day after he was named as Jon Stewart’s replacement. Several old tweets resurfaced online from Noah making jokes about Israel and Jewish women in particular that started a backlash against Comedy Central’s pick.

Seinfeld and Noah were also spotted earlier shooting an episode of Seinfeld’s “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” web series. It was shot in Brooklyn where the two were seen in a white Ferrari. That could add yet another theory. Maybe Trevor Noah is hanging with these guys just for the nice cars, free coffee and baseball tickets.
