Tired of Your Job? Outsource it Yourself

A Verizon software developer has been busted for outsourcing his own job out to a Chinese consulting form. He was doing this with several other companies in his area as well, pulling in several hundred thousand dollars a year. All in all he was paying the Chinese about fifty grand a year. So as a Chinese programmer, this guy was hanging out in his office doing dick. Verizon’s security released his typical web browsing schedule from viewing his history:

• 9:00 a.m. – Arrive and surf Reddit for a couple of hours. Watch cat videos.
• 11:30 a.m. – Take lunch.
• 1:00 p.m. – Ebay time.
• 2:00 – ish p.m Facebook updates – LinkedIn.
• 4:30 p.m. – End of day update e-mail to management.
• 5:00 p.m. – Go home.

All the work the Chinese did was spot on, he was caught because there was an open connection between his office and Shenyang, China. After it was investigated, they found a bunch of invoices to the consulting firm that was doing this guys work. The most surprising part of his day? An hour and a half lunch, that’s just pushing it.
