Tig Notaro Wants To Be The Next Host Of The Oscars
Just when it seemed like campaigning for the Oscars was over, it’s starting right back up again. Although, this isn’t for a film or a performance to get nominated, it’s for the hosting gig. Tig Notaro is making her voice heard to be the next host of the Academy Awards.
Tig posted an “open letter to the people looking for a new Oscar host” on her site, TigNation.com. She puts together an argument for herself as the Academy Awards next master of ceremonies. Despite her many qualities that she puts in her letter campaigning to be the next Oscar host, she writes “Now, let me start by saying that I don’t have a problem with Neil Patrick Harris.” Then what follows is a list of why she should be there on stage pointing out Oprah in the audience on Oscar night instead of NPH.
Tig’s case for hosting the Oscars include things like how well she looks in a suit, her experience at the Grammys pre-telecast, she lives near the venue and people confusing her with previous host Ellen DeGeneres. Yes, all convincing arguments, but we will have to wait a year to see if it’s had any affect or will it be Neil Patrick Harris singing and dancing his way into America’s favorite film trophy presentation next year as well.
