Thousands Protest Comedian; Ask Tonight Show to Boycott

According to reports, during a performance, comedian Andrew Gross pressured a female student who was running orientation week to touch his thigh, joked about her giving him an erection on stage, and made the student so uncomfortable she was close to tears. According to some reports- most of the audience walked out of the show. Other reports say only hundreds walked. According to the Washington Post, “Freshmen streamed out of the auditorium and onto the lawn, where they shared embraces.”

The school has released a statement saying that some parts of the performance were inappropriate and contrary to the values of respect for all. “We will not work with this comedian again,” the statement said, “and are proud of our students who are standing up and voicing their concerns about the performance.”

Students swarmed twitter with the hashtag #AndyGrossIsGross and with pleas to Jimmy Fallon to keep the comic off the Tonight Show.

Gross hasn’t responded to the uproar but he did post this testimonial on Instagram.
