The NCAA’s About To Ban The No-Huddle Hurry-Up Offense
You know that up-tempo offense everyone’s been talking about in college? You know, like the style Chip Kelly ran at Oregon? An NCAA football rules committee has proposed a new rule that would require teams to wait 11 seconds from the start of the play clock to snap the ball. The proposal came after Nick Saban and Bret Beilema voiced their displeasure of that style of offense to the committee. A final vote for approval will be March 6th.
And what will the penalty be called as? This is the NCAA: it will be “delay of game.”
