The Bocchetti Files: An Exclusive Interview with Jessimae Peluso

The Bocchetti Files is back with an all new interview with actress and comedian Jessimae Peluso! Jessimae is a a cast member for MTV’s “Girl Code” & “Failosophy”, with appearances on TBS’ “Deal With It”, NBC’s “Last Call With Carson Daly Spotlight”, Comedy Central’s “@Midnight”, E!’s “Chelsea Lately”, Fox’s “Worlds Funniest Fails”, AXS’ “Gotham Live”, “The Tyra Banks Show”, Tru TV’s “All Worked Up” and an international Nintendo ad campaign. Born in Syracuse, Jessimae got her comedy start in Boston before heading to New York.  She tours the country performing stand up and gets a lot of love for her social media posts.

Mike met Jessimae about 8 0r 9 years ago when they both did gigs together for their mutual comic friend Gary Michaels in New Jersey. Mike said he wanted to interview Jessimae because she is super down to earth and funny and is still the same person as she was when he met her.

Mike Bocchetti: Okay Jessica how long was the audition process to get on Girl Code?

Jessimae Peluso: The audition process was fun and SUPER SECRET SO I CAN’T TELL YOU WITHOUT KILLING YOUR PET FERRET! You seem like someone who keeps a pet ferret.

Mike Bocchetti: When you got on the show did you think it was going to be a gigantic hit like it is now?

Jessimae Peluso: I had NO idea the show was going to resonate the way it did! No one did, we just hoped it made and impact and it did. It changed my life and I’m grateful for that.

Mike Bocchetti: What celebrity would you be intimidated to meet?

Jessimae Peluso: I would be and WAS intimated to meet Gene Wilder. I had the opportunity to meet him about 8 years ago and was dumbfounded and unable to articulate any of my thoughts. I just kind of murmured under my breath and had extreme upper lip sweat. One of my regrets still to this day. Hopefully I get a second chance to speak to him properly as he is one of my comedic heroes.

Mike Bocchetti: I know you’re from Syracuse. Do your family and friends treat you any differently since the show?

Jessimae Peluso: I have a HUGE family, 45 first cousins just on my father’s side of the family alone so there’s a lot of craziness to deal with.  My father asked for 6k the day I got my overall deal with E! Networks, he didn’t even give me 5 minutes to let the reality settle in. HA! HA! I literally told them in our kitchen at my mom’s home in Syracuse and five minutes later he was like, “babe can I borrow 6k to go to Florida for the winter?”  #Blessed

Mike Bocchetti: If you could change any thing about your self what would it be?

Jessimae Peluso: I wouldn’t change a GOD DAMNED THING! I ain’t perfect.  I wasn’t born a super model. I have weird shins.  Sometimes my eye twitched uncontrollably.  I tend to air on the flatulent side.  I love it all because it’s MINE! We get one go at it, so I like to own it all!
