The 5: Drizzy Dre Popcorn From The Trap Nerds Podcast Shares His All Time Top 5 Video Games

The Trap Nerds Podcast
The Trap Nerds launched in the middle of the COVID pandemic with their first episode dedicated to actor Chadwick Boseman as the group chatted about the actor’s legacy and how Marvel will move forward with the Black Panther storyline following his passing. It has been their goal from the start to inform people of color that there are people out there that look like them who are interested and invested in these types of “nerd” genres.

The 5: Drizzy Dre Popcorn’s All Time Top 5 Video Games
Metal Gear Solid. I played MGS1 at the age of 8 and was introduced to Hideo Kajima, one of my favorite game directors. Looking at the series from then to now story wise and behind the scenes, it’s Hall of Fame status to me. It also introduced me to stealth games and solidified Solid Snake as a goat. Sam Fisher really was his only competition.
Final Fantasy. The first one I played was 7 and now I’ve played all of them minus 2. The story, crazy artwork and the fact that each final fantasy is its own final fantasy has had me hooked to this day. My personal favorites are 2, 6, 7, 9, 14, and 15. Yes I cried when Aerith died.
Kingdom Hearts. From the greatest minds from Square Enix and Disney, we got one of the greatest mergers we didn’t know we needed. Even though it’s one of the most confusing stories told, it’s still one of the greatest! It’s Final Fantasy and Disney, and who really thought that would work? But it did, and I’m thankful.
Mortal Kombat. My all time favorite fighting game and the one I’m best at. Growing up, my grandad used to just not let me win and now I play it competitively. Plus the story was wild, but at least it all makes sense now…..mostly. If I’m playing with Scorpion, everybody else is going to lose.
Resident Evil. The game that traumatized me when I was 6. The late 90’s was a slight golden era to me and Resident Evil gave us dark survival horror. The story Capcom created over all the games, movies, and plays – I just learned they have stage plays of Resident Evil AND THEY’RE CANON- just amazes me. I’m ready to see where they go now because they’ve recently released RE8, and the story and possibilities can go anywhere.
