Texas Filibuster Stopped Early, But Bill Blocked

wendy-davis1-300x180Texas State Sen. Wendy Davis filibustered for about 12 hours to stop an anti-abortion bill from being voted on, that would close the majority of Texas abortion clinics. Davis’ filibuster was shut down after the legislature claim she violated the rules. The state senate voted on the bill despite disruptions to let Davis finish. However Republicans later conceded that the vote happened past the 12am deadline, blocking the bill for now.
