A study on the literacy rates of college athletes has upset some, especially in Chapel Hill, where a North Carolina representative has received death threats after reporting that between 8% and 10% of the school’s football and basketball players read below a third grade level. The threats shouldn’t be taken seriously though since they obviously had help from a parent in writing it.
