Where would the NFL be without Ed & Steve Sabol doing NFL Films? Steve Sabol, who along with his father Ed, masterfully showed the artistry, beauty, and brutality of the NFL, passed away today from brain cancer.
As President of NFL Films, Sabol’s use of slow motion and montage editing revolutionized televised sports. Sabol won 40 Emmys during his run at NFL Films and the company’s Super Bowl presentations (using the booming voice of John Facenda) are now legendary.
Steve Sabol was 69.
