Stephen Colbert Denies Racist Tweet Is His
On Wednesday a tweet went out from the Colbert Report’s verified Twitter account that offended some people. The tweet was suppose to be a joke about and an answer to Redskins owner Daniel Snyder starting a new Native American foundation.
The tweet has been deleted, but here’s what it said.
I am willing to show #Asian community I care by introducing the Ching-Chong Ding-Dong Foundation for Sensitivity to Orientals or Whatever.— The Colbert Report (@ColbertReport) March 27, 2014
Following the outrage, Colbert has denied sending the tweet, saying he and his show do not run @ColbertReport and that it is a Comedy Central account. The account which put out the racist tweet denied Colbert’s involvement.
