Stephen Colbert Cracks Over Paris Attacks

Once again comedians wonder about how to handle tragedy. The Paris attacks happened right at the end of the Late Show’s taping. Obviously it feels inappropriate to send out a comedy show when the world is reeling after the attack in Paris, especially one that was taped before knowing what had happened.
Colbert said “We end our show tonight with a heavy heart,” adding “not much is known right now. We do know that there have been many deaths and the crisis is still ongoing.” He ended his statement, obviously unsure what he could possibly say in response to such terrible tragedy other than “We add our thoughts and prayers to everyone in Paris.”
