Spike Lee: Kevin Hart Won’t Win The NBA All Star Celebrity MVP This Year

Kevin Hart has made the NBA All Star Weekend Celebrity Game his basketball showcase. He’s won the celebrity MVP three years in a row. One person close to the situation has announced that Hart’s not going to four-peat. Spike Lee claims “He’s not winning this year”.
Spike Lee was on SiriusXM’s Ron and Fez Show on Wednesday to talk about his new movie, “Da Sweet Blood of Jesus”. He also talked to host Ron Bennington about being a part of the coaching team for this year’s Celebrity Game happening at Madison Square Garden on Friday. Spike not only told Bennington that Kevin Hart won’t be going home with another Celebrity MVP award he told the audience who will be. He said, “You know who’s going to win this year? Mo’ne Davis. South Philly. She’s a 10 times better basketball player than baseball.” Mo’ne is the Little League pitcher from Philadelphia who led her team into the Little League World Series tournament last year, becoming the first girl to earn a win and pitch a shut out game in the tournament’s history.
Mo’ne Davis is Spike Lee’s not-so-secret weapon. When Bennington asked Spike who else was on his team, he said, “That’s all I need”. He added, “She’s going to be my point guard. She’s going to facilitate. She’s going to distribute. And she’s got a sweet outside shot too.”
Spike who directed a Chevy commercial with Mo’ne for the Little League World Series says he was immediately impressed by her. “She was on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Knocked Kobe Bryant off the cover. A 14 year old black girl from South Philly knocked Kobe off the cover. I mean this Summer, she was the darling of American sports for sure.”
While Spike Lee claims that all he needs is a one girl team, the rosters for the NBA All Star Weekend Celebrity Game will be made up from celebrity players like Ansel Elgort, Chadwick Boseman, Michael Rapaport, Abhishek Bachchan, Nick Cannon, Arcade Fire’s Win Butler, former NBA players Allan Houston and Chris Mullin, paralympic athlete Blake Leeper, Memphis Grizzlies owner Robert Pera, NBA TV’s Kristen Ledlow, and WNBA players Shoni Schimmel, Skylar Diggins and Tina Charles.
The NBA All Star Weekend Celebrity Game is Friday night on ESPN at 7pm et.
