Sinatra Was Originally Offered “Die Hard”

frank-sinatra-7The Bruce Willis film “Die Hard” was based on a book called “Nothing Lasts Forever”. It was a sequel to a previous book called “The Detective”. Frank Sinatra starred in the film version of “The Detective”, and contractually had to be offered the part in any film sequels including “Die Hard”. At 73, he turned down the role. He also turned down later opportunities, including “It Was A Very Good Year To Die Hard” and “Die Hard: My Way”.
