Manhunt for Boston Bombing Suspects Ends With One Killed, One Captured (UPDATED)
CBS News reported that a security guard at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts has been shot in a campus shooting. MIT students have been warned to stay indoors.

In addition to there being a shooting at MIT, CNN is reporting that one or two suspects have been taken into custody in nearby Watertown, Massachusetts, under heavy police presence. There is no information about whether the suspect or suspects that were arrested have any connection to the MIT shooting, or Monday’s bombing. There are conflicting reports of explosions, car jackings, how many suspects were apprehended and other media clusterfuckiness in the rush to report. Stay tuned for further misinformation.

The Boston Globe is reporting that after the shooting took place at MIT, a manhunt moved to Watertown to search for the Boston Marathon Bombing suspects. The Globe is now reporting that one of the suspects is in custody, and that the search remains underway for the second suspect. There has been massive gunfire as well as explosions reported.

Police have released this photo of the suspect still at large in Watertown. One officer has been killed and one has been severely wounded.

Quick Summary of Confirmed Information:
- There was a confrontation on the MIT campus with the two men suspected of carrying out the Boston Marathon Bombing at around 10:30 in the evening and an MIT officer was shot multiple times and killed during the confrontation.
- The suspects robbed a 7-11, and carjacked a vehicle in Cambridge and drove around with the owner for about 30 minutes before letting him go at a gas station.
- The suspects then led a police chase to Watertown. During the chase, explosives were thrown from the vehicle.
- The suspects and police were in an extensive gunfight in Watertown.
- Suspect #1 (know as blackhat) was killed. He was pronounced dead at the hospital from multiple wounds that were a combination of gunshot wounds and blast or shrapnel wounds. It has been reported that he was wearing a vest with explosives at the time but this is unconfirmed.
- As of this time, suspect #2 known as (white hat) remains at large and is believed to be armed and very dangerous. Police are maintaining a 20 block radius and are reportedly waiting for daylight.
- The person who was arrested earlier and told to strip naked before being taken into custody is not believed to be one of the suspects.

The Entire City of Boston Ordered to “Shelter in Place” with a full shutdown of all subway, bus, train and taxi service. There is a no fly zone over Watertown.
Suspects Identified as brothers. 26 year old Tamerlan Tsarnaev, also known as suspect #1 or black hat who was pronounced dead last night, and 19 year old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. also known as suspect #2 or white hat who is still at large. Both subjects are from Russia and went to High School in Cambridge.

Authorities are also searching for a third unnamed possible accomplice who may have taken a train to Connecticut. MSNBC is reporting that the train he is believed to be on has been stopped and surrounded.
The MIT police officer who was shot and killed last night has been identified as 26 year old Sean Collier.

Police have expressed that they have new leads and will be following up on them.
Suspects had carjacked an SUV last night, forced the owner to withdraw money, and admitted to being responsible for the bombing before releasing him.
Boston remains on lockdown but taxi service has been restored.
UPDATE: 6:00pm
It is believed that the suspect is still in Massachusetts. The two suspects were previously believed to have robbed a 7-11, but it has been revealed that the 7-11 robbery was unrelated and was not committed by the two suspects. All subway operations will resume, and the “Shelter in Place” has been lifted although people are urged to be vigilant.

There are early reports that following automatic gunfire, the suspect might be down. No confirmation yet. According to CBS Local in Boston, the Mayor confirmed that police have someone surrounded in a boat in a back yard in Watertown. Boston’s CBS Local also is confirming they have a source that says it is the bombing suspect and he is surrounded.

CBS Boston is reporting that 19 year old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is surrounded in the previously mentioned boat, and is still alive. WBZ radio 1030 is reporting that he was found when a resident noticed blood near his winter wrapped boat and looked inside and discovered the suspect. Helicopters using thermal imaging technology were also used. According to MSNBC a Boston Police Official is saying that he’s been hit.

CBS Boston is reporting that police using thermal imaging camera can still see suspect moving on the boat.
Early reports from a police scanner at 8:42 indicate the suspect is in custody.
