Perhaps taking a page from fellow Long Island Resident Billy Joel, it has been announced that Jerry Seinfeld has committed to six shows, once a month starting in January 2016 at the iconic theater.

Jerry Seinfeld: The Homestand will hit the Beacon on January 7, with follow up shows on February 18th, March 2nd, April 14th, May 5th and June 8th.

Seinfeld called the Upper West Side Venue his favorite venue in New York City. “My favorite theater in New York to perform in has always been the Beacon,” Seinfeld said. “Comedians live for certain houses that just feel ‘alive’ for some reason. The Beacon is that place for me.”

In a statement, the EC of the Madison Square Garden Company (which owns The Beacon) said “Jerry Seinfeld is one of the most influential and respected comedians of all time and through both his groundbreaking hit series, Seinfeld, and his newest venture, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, he has permanently changed both the modern comedy and television landscapes,” Dolan said, adding that “as a renowned New Yorker whose brand of comedy is rooted in the Big Apple, we are honored to welcome Jerry to The Beacon, his neighborhood theater.”

Tickets go on sale December 7.
