Seattle Comic Attacked On Stage With Baseball Bat

DylanAvila-300x250Dylan Avila, a comedian based in the Seattle area, underwent surgery after he was hit with a baseball bat by a man upset that he wasn’t allowed to perform at his open mic show. The man had performed a few weeks earlier, but behaved so erratically that he was asked not to return. His act included introducing himself as Jesus Christ while working with a Bible and a sex toy.

According to the Seattle Times, the attacker hid behind the stage and waited for Avila to start performing. That’s when the man hit Avila in the ear and the back of the head with the bat causing a double skull fracture. While half of the audience rushed the stage to help Avila out of further harm’s way, the other half went after the attacker and subdued him.

Dylan Avila underwent 3 hours of surgery and was placed in intensive care. A GoFundMe.com account was set up to help with his medical expenses.
