Memo Gidley and Matteo Malucelli were both sent to the hospital Saturday night after an accident in the third hour of the 24 hour sports car race. Malucelli’s GTLM-class Ferrari lost power and slowed to a stop outside the east end of the International Horseshoe. Gidley’s Corvette Prototype was exiting the corner when he pulled left to pass a GT car and struck the stalled car at full speed.
