Roseanne Makes First Return to the Stage With An Assist From the Dice Man in Vegas

Roseanne Barr took the stage with Andrew Dice Clay in Vegas this weekend. The move took place at the Tropicana’s Laugh Factory during Clay’s scheduled gig on Saturday night. Dice put 7 posts including photos and video on his Instagram page talking about the night. According to Instagram, the venue’s owner, Harry Basil, interrupted Dice during his headlining set to let him know that Roseanne was in the house, and was backstage. In the video you can see Basil on stage whispering in Dice’s ear, and then setting up a second mic. Dice teases Basil for being so dramatic about it all before giving Roseanne a very enthusiastic introduction. “I’ve got a little special treat for everybody. A close friend of mine, I’d say about 33 years. One of the biggest comedians ever, there haven’t been many as controversial, as outspoken, and as fucking funny…let’s hear it for Roseanne Barr!”

Barr of course has been shunned from just about everywhere ever since a racial tweet she posted cost her everything– her revival tv series, her reputation, and all planned gigs, including one at that very club. That was almost a year ago, but anger against Barr rose again just last week when she called women who made #metoo accusations “‘hos'”

But Dice was clear that he supported Barr and her comedic talents 100%. “She Hadn’t Been On Stage Since She Got Fired From ABC,” he wrote, “And last Night Made So Many People Laugh … And They Loved Her!” Dice noted that humans screw up, but comedians keep people laughing through kaos and pain. He described Barr as nervous to go on stage, but says that once she got a few laughs, she got her groove and crushed. “So proud of her,” he wrote, adding “Love You Roseann, XO.”

This was her first time back on stage and the audience greeted her with a raucous standing ovation. She mentions that she has been lucky to have worked with a number of geniuses in her life, name checking Rodney Dangerfield, Sam Kinison and Carl LaBove before putting Dice in that same category. The former Last Comic Standing judge told Dice he is at the top of his game, adding, “and you’re telling the truth, and that’s illegal nowadways, so keep it up.”

Dice also posted video of Barr sitting in the green room, laughing and watching Dice’s opener, Eleanor Kerrigan, and finally one last video shows Dice and Rosie swing dancing to Royal Crown Revue’s “The Walking Blues.”
