Roseanne Leaving the Country To Get Away From The Connors…And She’s Also Working on a New Sitcom

Roseanne Barr has announced that she wants to be far far away when ABC brings back The Connors without her.

In a podcast appearance with her friend and mentor Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, Barr revealed that she’s going to Israel. She plans to spend a few months halfway across the world studying when the show airs. “I have an opportunity to go to Israel for a few months and study with my favorite teachers over there, and that’s where I’m going to go and probably move somewhere there and study with my favorite teachers,” she said.

She says she isn’t wishing bad things on her former castmates who are her friends, but she also isn’t wishing good on her enemies but her own mental health requires her to stay far away from it all including the inevitable commentary that will include discussion of her absence. “I’m staying neutral. That’s what I do,” she said adding, “that’s what I gotta do. I have some mental health issues of depression and stuff. I got to stay in the middle or I’ll go dark, and I don’t want to go dark again,” she said, and then joked that she’s been dark before, “After all, I was married to Tom Arnold.”

Being in Israel and studying, she believes, will keep her from drinking and saying things she’ll later regret. She already regrets a few things- and not just the tweet- she also regrets apologizing to the left.

She also mentioned that she has been taking singing lessons, that she’s always wanted to sing (but admits she’s not very good), and revealed that she is working on a sitcom that she says is very funny.
