Rob Schneider has a new series coming to Netflix! The series debuts on December 1 and it’s called Real Rob for a reason. Rob plays himself, and Patricia Schneider his real wife, plays his wife in the series as well. According to EW, Rob and Patricia wrote the scripts together along with comedian Jamie Lissow. Lissow also co-stars and the couple say he was instrumental in preventing them from butting heads too often. The scripted series is sometimes inspired by real life experiences but isn’t necessarily biographical.

According to Schneider’s website, Real Rob! is a ‘close to the bone’ portrayal of the internationally famous comedian, from the ups and downs of celebrity life, to the closer to home issues Rob faces daily with his wife and daughter.

Real life friends George Lopez, David Spade, Norm Macdonald and more appear sprinkled throughout.

Schneider’s career took a real boost when he joined SNL first as a writer and later as a castmember from 1990 to 1994. After Saturday Night Live, Schneider appeared in films like Grown Ups, You Don’t Mess With The Zohan, 50 First Dates, Big Daddy and The Waterboy, and he recently filmed The Ridiculous Six.

Watch the trailer now, the series starts streaming on December 5.
